Before the works

This engineered wood flooring was desperate for renovation after a long lasting tenancy. The new owners of the property were looking into sanding and resealing the existing 14 mm engineered planks with 3 mm top layer and seal it with durable matt lacquer.

Luckily, the floors were never sanded before and this was a great option for the young couple. However, we had to turn down the request to have the floors stained to a darker colour, as the process requires good and even thickness of the timber surface.

Stripping down a heavily worn 3 mm engineered top layer, will not offer suitable surface and may result a patchy effect after application of the stain.

How we did it...

A previously rented flat was transformed into a beautiful and cosy new home for a young family after we performed our sanding and lacquering service. This engineered flooring with 3 mm top layer of oak, so it required careful and precise sanding to ensure the ultimate results and long lasting durability.

Floors were sealed with commercial grade floor lacquer Bona Traffic in satin finish to ensure long lasting effect.
