Before the works...

The oak engineered wood flooring in this Hampton Wick house was looking tired and in serious need of restoration. During our free site survey, we did a thorough inspection of the wooden floors & discussed with the client all possible choices, followed by itemised quote with our floor sanding & repairs pricing for engineered wood flooring.

Our client has decided to go for floor sanding, staining and gap filling of 64 sqm oak engineered wood flooring and finishing the floors in matt Lacquer.

How we completed this oak engineered wood flooring renovation...

One of the challenges we faced during the floor works was to complete the floor works in stages, due to bulky pieces of furniture, which could not be removed from the rooms.

Engineered wood flooring comes with different depth of the top layer. During the site survey, we have identified the remaining thickness however, our team will double check again, there is enough depth before starting the floor restoration works.

During the oak engineered floor restoration, the entire area is going through a process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to the application of the sealant & between the coats, for perfect results.

Our works included approx. 64 sqm oak engineered wood flooring floor sanding and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Bona Mega lacquer.

We also carried out gap filling as part of the floor restoration process. We aim to apply resin filler in late hours of the working day, so it settles properly overnight and in case it is needed we can repeat it on the following morning, if required. The resin gap filling is after that removed by next step of the finishing process with medium grids.

Our team prepared few samples on the unfinished sanded timber surface for the client to approve prior to application of the finish. The client chose to go for staining their engineered wood flooring in beautiful jacobean oak colour to compliment their interior.

Overall, this floor sanding project in Hampton Wick was completed as scheduled and to the delight of the client.
