Before the works...
The pine floorboards in this Windsor house was looking tired and in desperate need of restoration. During our obligation-free survey, we did detailed inspection of the wooden floors & discussed with the client all available options, followed by comprehensive quote with our floor restoration & repairs pricing for floorboards.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding of 33 sqm pine floorboards and finishing the floors in matt Lacquer.
How we completed this pine floorboards restoration...
The thickness of the pine floorboards used for properties is approx. 20 mm when laid. Pine timber shrinks with the time and also becomes thinner every time the floors are restored. The minimal thickness, after which floorboards cannot be restored any further is approx. 15 mm.
At this stage our team will inspect carefully the thickness of the floorboards and also advise if any further repairs or floorboards replacement may be recommended prior to the floor renovation works.
During the floorboards sanding, the entire area is going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to the application of the sealant & between the coats, for perfect results.
Our works included approx. 33 sqm pine floorboards floor renovation and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of classic, clear waterbased finish lacquer.
Overall, this floor restoration project in Windsor was completed as scheduled and to the satisfaction of the client.
