Before the works...
The merbau parquet flooring in this East Molesey property was looking tired and in timely need of restoration. During our obligation-free survey, we did detailed inspection of the floors & discussed with the client all available choices, followed by itemised quote with our floor sanding & repairs prices for parquet flooring.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding and gap filling of 18 sqm merbau parquet flooring and finishing the floors in matt Lacquer.
How we carried out this merbau parquet flooring restoration...
One of the challenges we experienced during this project was to complete the floor works in stages, due to bulky pieces of furniture, which could not be moved out.
Parquet flooring comprises of a large amount of small wooden pieces forming a pattern. Our technicians will carefully inspect the floors for loose blocks and hollowness, and take further steps on this stage, if required.
During the merbau parquet flooring restoration the entire timber surface is going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to sealing & between the coats, for excellent results.
Our works included approx. 18 sqm merbau parquet flooring floor renovation and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Tover Home Maxi lacquer.
We also carried out gap filling as part of the floor renovation process. We aim to apply resin filler in the second half of the working day, so it settles properly overnight and we can repeat it on the following morning, if required. The putty is after that removed by next stages of the floor sanding process in medium grids.
Overall, this floor restoration project in East Molesey was completed as originally planned and to the delight of the client.
