Before the works...
The oak parquet flooring in this Wimbledon property was looking tired and in urgent need of restoration. During our initial survey, we did a thorough inspection of the wooden floors & discussed with the client all available choices, followed by itemised quote with our floor restoration & repairs prices for parquet flooring.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding of 54 sqm oak parquet flooring and finishing the floors in matt Lacquer.
How we carried out this oak parquet flooring renovation...
One of the challenges we faced during this project was to complete the floor works in stages, due to larger pieces of furniture, which could not be removed from the rooms.
After our floor restoration experts have checked all property & service details, they started with lifting the existing carpets and its preparation for disposal to our waste facility.
Parquet flooring comprises of large quantity of small wooden pieces forming a pattern. Our team will carefully inspect the floors for loose blocks and hollowness, and take further steps on this stage, if required.
During the oak parquet flooring restoration the entire timber surface is going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to the application of the sealant & between the coats, for perfect results.
Our works included approx. 54 sqm oak parquet flooring floor restoration and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Tover Home Maxi lacquer.
Overall, this floor sanding project in Wimbledon was completed as planned and to the delight of the client.
