Before the works...
The pine parquet flooring in this Marylebone property was looking tired and in serious need of refinishing. During our obligation-free survey, we did detailed inspection of the wooden floors & discussed with the client all possible options, followed by itemised quote with our floor sanding & repairs prices for parquet flooring.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding and gap filling of 85 sqm pine parquet flooring and finishing the floors in matt Lacquer.
How we completed this pine parquet flooring restoration...
One of the challenges we faced during this project was to complete the floor works in stages, due to larger pieces of furniture, which could not be removed from the rooms.
Parquet flooring comprises of many small wooden pieces forming a pattern. Our floor men will carefully inspect the floors for movement and hollowness, and take further steps on this stage, if required.
During the pine parquet flooring sanding the entire timber surface is going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to sealing & between the coats, for excellent results.
Our works included approx. 85 sqm pine parquet flooring floor renovation and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Bona Traffic lacquer.
We also carried out gap filling with saw dust as part of the wood floor sanding process. We aim to apply resin filler in the second half of the working day, so it settles properly overnight and in case it is needed we can repeat it on the following day, if required. The filler is after that removed by next stages of the floor sanding process in medium grids.
Overall, this floor sanding project in Marylebone was completed as planned and to the delight of the client.
