Before the works...
The extra wide oiled engineered oak wood flooring in this Southbank Tower flat in Southwark was looking worn-out and in need of full restoration. During our obligation-free survey, we did a thorough inspection of the floors & discussed with the client all possible choices, followed by comprehensive quote with our floor sanding & finishing pricing for engineered wood flooring.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding of 120 sqm oak engineered wood flooring and finishing the floors in Bona Traffic Raw, extra-matt invisble / raw finish lacquer. Samples were prepared on additional visit for the client to approve the final finish before application and the works were completed while on holiday leave and in their absence.
How we completed this oak engineered wood flooring renovation...
One of the challenges we faced during the floor works was to complete the floor works in stages, due to larger pieces of furniture, which could not be moved out.
Engineered wood flooring comes with different thickness of the top layer. During the initial site visit, we have confirmed the remaining thickness however, our team will double check again, there is enough thickness before starting the floor restoration works.
During the oak engineered floor renovation, the entire timber surface is going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to sealing & between the coats, for outstanding results.
Our works included approx. 120 sqm oak engineered wood flooring floor renovation and finishing in extra-matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Bona Traffic Raw lacquer.
Overall, this floor renovation project in Southbank Tower in Southwark was completed as originally planned and to the delight of the client, upon return from their vacation.
