Before the works...
These beautiful oak engineered wood flooring in WeWork offices at 12 Moorgate, London were covered with carpet tiles and carpet adhesives for number of years, before we were called to assess their restoration. During our obligation-free survey, we did a thorough inspection of the timber floors & discussed with WeWork management all available options, followed by comprehensive quote with our floor restoration & repairs prices for engineered wood flooring.
Our client has decided to remove the carpet tiles on 2 levels of the building and restore the hidden engineered oak flooring in all offices and seal them with clear commercial grade matt lacquer.
How we carried out this oak engineered wood flooring restoration...
One of the challenges we faced during this project was to complete the floor works in stages, due to large amount of desks and office chairs, which could not be completely removed from the rooms.
The tacky residue from the carpets adhesive was another challenge we faced, but managed to remove it with special adhesive dissolver.
Engineered wood flooring comes with different thickness of the top layer. During the initial survey, we have confirmed the remaining thickness however, our team will double check again, there is sufficient thickness before starting the floor restoration works.
During the oak engineered floor renovation, the entire timber surface is going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to the application of the sealant & between the coats, for perfect results.
Our works included approx. 450 sqm oak engineered wood flooring floor renovation and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 3 coats of Bona Traffic lacquer.
Overall, this large scake floor renovation project in Bank, was completed as scheduled in 2 stages and to the delight of the client.
